I made my first basket while I visited my parents Christmas 2014 in Germany - out of pine needles from their garden. A bit rough and ready but I was hooked!

When I returned home to Adelaide I collected materials from my garden and made a few baskets out of agapanthus leaves. Pepper Street Art Gallery was looking for items for their exhibition “Renew” and I entered them under the title “Rescued from the compost Heap”.

I am still experimenting with different materials. Some of the baskets work better than others and a few still end up in the compost heap. I have taught a few workshops making pine needle baskets at Pepper Street Arts Centre.

I am a member of Basketry SA and exhibited at their show “Assemblage” at Urrbrae House in Adelaide in 2016.
